Bedding Sand WSA PS 360 and WSA PS 361
WSA 360 Fine Bedding Sand and WSA 361 5mm Minus Sand are clean, specification-grade materials designed for use in the embedment and bedding of utility infrastructure including water, gas and electrical conduits. Both products meet the relevant standards set by the Water Services Association of Australia and are used to protect in-ground services through proper compaction, drainage and long-term stability. WSA 360 is a fine-grained washed sand, ideal where reduced voids and uniform compaction are required, while WSA 361 is a coarser 5mm minus bedding material suited to sites that permit larger grain size without compromising embedment performance.

WSA PS 360 and WSA PS 361 Technical Guidelines
Daisy’s utility sands are supplied to meet both WSA PS 360 and WSA PS 361 specifications. These are two distinct materials approved for the same application: pipe embedment and bedding in utility trench construction. Both sands are designed to support water, gas and conduit assets during and after installation, providing reliable compaction, drainage and long-term protection.
WSA PS 360 Fine Washed Sand is a fine-grained, clean sand with very low clay and silt content. It compacts uniformly around pipes and conduits and is ideal for reducing voids and limiting differential settlement.
WSA PS 361 5mm Minus Sand is a slightly coarser product with a controlled particle size distribution up to 5 millimetres. It provides the same functional performance as PS 360 and is often used where a more open-graded bedding material is preferred by project engineers.
Both sands are washed, non-reactive and compliant with Water Services Association of Australia specifications. Test data confirming grading, compaction and cleanliness is available on request.
